September 18, 2017

I am so excited for fall too! We got to break out the sweaters last week and I was so happy. We have had a hot summer (not nearly as hot as El Paso though) and I am so ready for fall.

Thank you so much for sharing all those insights! I love hearing about the things you learn each week. Especially the thoughts about the temple are very beautiful! It's really good to have those simple goals like "love." Because it helps you to be focused on them! I hope soon that the kids will learn how to study and stuff. Valuable skills haha

I hope you and dad don't think that I don't want to spend time with you guys because I made the "couple of weeks" comment haha I've just heard from almost everyone that after a couple weeks of being home, they go crazy because they have nothing to do- but I guess if I get a job down in El Paso then I would be pretty busy. I'm sure Bush's chicken would take me back lol

Today we hiked Horsetooth mountain in Fort Collins! It was so pretty. We hiked with Elder Judd and Elder Hatch, two of my favorite guys. They are so fun.

This week we only had two meetings! It was a nice change lol we have spent a lot of time trying to find people to teach this week. We have had little success, but we will not give up! We know there are people out there for us to find. We just have to find them. I have a testimony that the Lord will guide us to them. We just have to keep working hard and trying our best to find those who are prepared for the restored gospel.

Like I mentioned last week, we are trying to be more creative in our finding methods. We are starting a scripture study class on October 8th! We will be studying the New Testament, which will be awesome. We hope to find people this way. We also are going to try to start up some firesides where members can invite their friends. That will be cool. I'll send a picture of the flyer we made on the photoshare.

I almost have the Living Christ memorized! The document you made with Jose pictures is really really helpful. I worked on it this past Sunday during Stake Conference
haha we couldn't hear super well where we were sitting so I tried to occupy myself otherwise lol I love that document! The Living Christ has strengthened my testimony so much. I seriously love reading it.

Stake Conference was actually really good. We learned a lot about how ordinances are connected to the Atonement of Jesus Christ and also about the importance of the temple. I learned a lot, which was very cool. It's so weird for me to look back and see how much my mission has changed me. It is astounding. I can hardly believe the massive change. I barely recognize myself when I entered the MTC. It's also hard to convey that change over email, so it will be fun when I get home to get to know you guys again, as weird as that sounds hahaha

These past couple of weeks have been crazy busy- we usually still find ways to get our studies in- and I figure that I can rest when I get home lol. I'm hoping to be able to take a nap at some point today, but we have a lesson scheduled at 5:30 so it's looking like it might not happen.

This past week I went on a cleaning spree and deep cleaned our apartment. I'm becoming OCD about cleanliness. Slowly but surely  our apartment is really clean though! That's nice.

This week as I have studied in the Book of Mormon and as I have studied the Living Christ, my sense of love for Jesus Christ has grown so much! I'm not serving a mission for myself. I'm not serving it for you guys, or for anyone back home. I'm serving a mission for Jesus Christ. That is my primary motivation. I feel a deep sense of loyalty to my Savior. I'm so grateful for that.

Thank you for being the best mom ever. This is true. I know everybody says that about their moms, but when I say it, it's actually true.

I love you.
