April 10, 2017

Work is definitely the miracle.
On Saturday we knocked all day. 8.5 hours of straight tracting and talking to everyone. (We would've had 10 but we ended up doing service for some families in the ward moving a heavy couch which took a long time)
We knocked on 109 doors and found 30 potential investigators! We handed out 34 copies of the Book of Mormon and committed everyone we could to come to church and read the Book of Mormon! It was awesome! This week we are going to spend a lot of time following up with the efforts from Saturday

We were so tired at the end of the day, but also so grateful. It is going to be an awesome week coming up. We have Zone Conference tomorrow, so that will be good too.

This week we went on 3 exchanges. We spent a lot of time with one companionship that is really struggling. We tried to help them because they are super depressed and don't do a lot of work. It was cool because as we were talking, they kinda brought up a concern and then we addressed it and then ended the conversation with a prayer and we were about to send them home, but something didn't feel right. We could feel that there was something more, so we just felt like we needed to express our love. We told them that we loved them and that we hoped that they felt that, and then they opened up to us a lot! It was amazing to realize that God had helped us to realize that there was something more to fix, and God was able to use us to help them. It was really awesome.

It is super important to remember that God is the one we need to ask our questions, not anyone else. Amanda Hammen learned that this week. She emailed me because she and Spencer had kinda stopped going to church for about 2 months. I had been encouraging them to go, but they just felt like the ward wasn't accepting. Then, at conference, Amanda listened to the talk by that guy who said "don't look around, look up" and it really stuck with her. She went back to church this week after praying a lot for the courage to do so, and she emailed me about the amazing experience that they had. It was super cool. The ward welcomed them back with open arms and Amanda really felt the Spirit. It is so cool that when we look to God before anything else, all things will work out. I love that.

PS Idk if you got the text from Sister Nilsen this afternoon, but she is awesome. She feeds us every Monday. She is super funny and a great member missionary.
