Happy Easter! The Savior of mankind is risen!
This week was super great. Elder Tippetts' quest to get me massive has
been progressing extremely slowly. In other news, as long as people
keep feeding us this well, I will be getting huge in a totally
different way...
We had Zone Conference this week which was great. I got to see some of
my best friends, which was cool. Our mission president and his wife
talked a lot about consecration and about how to do it. As a result,
this week I have been thinking a lot about what gets in the way of me
serving the Lord with all of my heart, might, mind and strength. If we
are honest with ourselves, this can be a spiritually invigorating
exercise. It was for me.
In other news, today we hiked in Estes Park. It was awesome. I will
try to send some pictures next week because somebody else took them.
There are some beautiful places here in Colorado. Also, we had a new
investigator named Ashley come to church this week, and she seemed to
really enjoy it! We had some great fellowship from the members here
and we are excited to see her progression. She has been reading the
Book of Mormon too, which is super key. Also, this week Elder Tippetts
and I didn't have as much time to tract because we spent all our time
trying to follow up with the people we talked to. We have been able to
meet with a couple of people and are still trying to help the others
read the Book of Mormon.
Okay, now for a few thoughts about agency. This week I have learned a
lot about how important agency is. Through the gift of agency, we are
responsible for our destinies! We choose who we become in this life,
not anyone else. Ultimately, we choose our destinations. Agency is a
beautiful thing. But of course, Satan is still trying to destroy our
agency. Nothing has changed. I learned this week that one of Satan's
greatest tricks is to get us to believe that we are not "agents unto
ourselves" (D&C 58 I think). He wants us to believe that we are not
the ones who control our destinies. He tries to get us to think that
our everyday choices don't matter in determining our ultimate destiny!
If he can't destroy our agency, he wants to at least try to make us
believe that we don't have it.
So remember that everyone! Your choices do matter! You can become who
you want to become. All you have to do is choose it.
Jesus Christ is always the advocate for our agency. He wants us to be
free, and I testify that because of Jesus Christ, we are all free.
There is no other way to have true liberty than to follow Jesus
Christ. He is always the defender of truth and freedom. By His atoning
sacrifice, our agency will be protected forever, if we so choose to
follow Him. I testify that there is no other way to true peace than
through the Son of God, Jesus Christ. He lives for all of us today.
I love you all very much.
(Appropriately of course)
