March 27, 2017

Group email:

This week has been awesome. My new companion, Elder Tippetts, is a beast. He has been out for seven months, and he is from Gilbert Arizona. He is a good missionary, he likes to work hard, so we will be able to continue the work that Elder Prescott and I were doing.

This week I learned a lot about prayer. I learned that the purpose of prayer is not to change God's will, but it is actually to align our will with God's will.
In this sense, true prayer is essential to repentance, and without prayer, we wouldn't be able to repent. I am truly grateful for prayer and the impact it's had on my life. I am so grateful to know of the true relationship I have with God, that He is my Father and that He loves me. Prayer truly has become my souls sincere desire. I would encourage you all to study about prayer and seek personal revelation in preparation for General Conference! Exciting stuff.

We saw some cool miracles this week. What I want to share is really a few miracles all put together.
For some missionaries, it is a struggle to figure out what to do in the last hour of the day. Nobody wants Mormons to come knocking around 8:30 PM, right?
For us, we have been trying to show our faith to the Lord by working our hardest during the hour from 8-9 PM. We have seen so many miracles! Unfailingly, when we put our faith on the line, the Lord blesses us. Every time we knock on doors late at night, we see miracles. Especially at 8:55, when we knock the last door before heading home. We handed out a Book of Mormon to a guy named Evan and committed him to read it and pray about it because we knocked doors at 8:55 on a Saturday night.
I have a testimony that faith brings miracles. Every time. The greatest miracle that comes as a result of faith is the miracle of conversion, or of a change of heart. True story.

I love you all so much! I hope you have a great week. Elder Tippetts and I will be getting "massive". (We got a lot of protein so now we have to work out)

Appropriate love,
Elder Bush

Email to Mom:

Yo se que el libro de mormon es verdadero. Yo se que Jesucristo es nuestro Salvador.
Also,
Somos los misioneros de la iglesia de Jesucristo de los santos en los ultimos dias.

That's about it lol I'm getting there, slowly. Elder Tippetts is great. He is a hard worker and we get along super well. We are always laughing about something, which is good. He is a doofus. We also decided to go through the 12 step booklet together so that I can continue to improve in that area. Doing good though!

Another cool thing going on is that we are really pushing working with the members here. We read the church handbook 2 about the calling of Ward mission leader and Ward missionaries in our missionary Correlation meeting. It was awesome. We talked a lot about how they need to make visits to follow up on invitations we extend and stuff like that. It was awesome! They are totally on board, and they see the vision of what we want to accomplish in the next couple of transfers, so we are super excited.

Thank you for the updates, I really appreciate them. I love hearing about insights from your studies, and I love hearing about what all the kids are doing. I wish we had more time to email so I could tell more stories.

I'm also excited for General Conference! There is only one more General Conference after this one, and then I will be home!!!!!!

I miss you guys so much! I'm sorry that I'm not good at typing emails. It takes me forever to compile my thoughts and stuff but I just love you guys and miss you a whole lot. I will try to take as many pictures and videos as I can so you guys can see what's going on.

Adding on to this email myself, we are doing a phone share through our phones and his companion, while helping people move, dropped some glass on his leg.  They got it cleaned up, but yikes!
