Our mission has the tradition of burning articles of clothing... a tie at 6 months, a shirt at a year, a pair of pants at 18 months, and a full suit at 2 years, but I think it's kinda dumb so I didn't do anything. Idk what we will do on my year mark but probably missionary work lol
I have seen a couple of people from old wards, but not really too many.
Elder Prescott is awesome. He is Tongan, but he lived in Hawaii most of his life. He has been out for about 16 months or so, and he really loves to work and he is always happy. It's pretty cool. We get along super well and I love working with him.
Longmont has been super warm too! I seriously love it! It's like barely windy at all lol compared to cheyenne it's paradise hahaha
The more I learn about gifts of the Spirit, the more I realize how much of a gift it is to have the companionship of the Holy Ghost and the opportunity to develop those spiritual gifts. Heavenly Father has given us the opportunity to have the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost, which is so amazing!
Let's see... what else happened this week. What else did I learn...
ah here's one!
I learned that repentance leads us to our divine potential. It helps us to see things as they really are. A requirement of true repentance is humility. Another one is honesty. I think those two go hand in hand, because pride and honesty cannot coexist. Super important principle for me to learn right there. As I'm honest about myself and what I've done in order to repent, I can begin to experience repentance. I always thought that the first step of repentance was always dumb. "Recognize what you are doing is wrong". But now I see that step is absolutely critical. You have to acknowledge the wrong choice you made. You can't say "well, so and so made me" or "it's not bad". You have to recognize and repent, and I realized that this week. Pretty simple, but something that has already started to change me.
I'm so glad to hear that your kid dates are going well. Nothing replaces the teaching moments found in one on one time. True story :)
Sorry my email this week is so short. I'm a bum. I will do better next week.
Just know that
I love you mom. So much. And I miss you. Thank you for the packages, and let me know if you got on the photoshare. :)
