Group Email:

I've been thinking about prayer and how it has changed my life.
Prayer really is communication with our Father in Heaven.
I know this to be true. He answers our prayers and loves us enough
to listen to all of our little problems.

Sometimes we take for granted the simple truths of the gospel.
Tonight, please don't take for granted the sacred opportunity that
prayer can be.

I love you all.

To Mom:

i honestly have no idea how i am surviving! it's kinda crazy how cold it is. i stay warm by layering and stuff though. it's all good. i think i might have to break out the long johns soon though... it's supposed to be -5 and with wind chill... i dont even want to think about it.

this week has been a good week. we went on exchanges twice. it presented some interesting opportunities for me to try to help some missionaries. there is one missionary in our zone that has gotten int trouble a few times with the mission president and he is now serving in a ward close to us. we talked a lot on the exchange, and we stayed up until about 11:30 or so talking after we finished our day. it was kinda cool because i was able to talk to him about his mission. he gave me the whole lowdown on why he started being disobedient and stuff. then i asked him how he wanted the rest of his mission to go. he told me that he wanted to change his habits because he told me that he could feel the Spirit while he was teaching a lesson and then as soon as he left, the Spirit would leave him. i encouraged him to be obedient and we set some goals this week together that i can try to help encourage him on. he has already changed the music that he listens to and he has started studying the White Handbook with the intent of being more obedient to the mission rules. it was a very cool experience for me to see that! he has seemed a lot happier over the past week. which was wayyyyyy cool. i hope he continues to change. it is always amazing to see people repent, because, as the Book of Mormon teaches us, "immediately the great plan of redemption is brought about unto [us]". the very moment we begin to repent, we are able to be cleansed by the Atonement of Jesus Christ. awesome stuff.
another thing Elder Coleman and I did this week was we started this new thing called "Here's What I Think!" where we jkust shout our opinions by first prefacing them with "here's what i think". it's a really fun way for us to state how we feel about things because he and i often feel differently about lots of stuff and we both just enjoy being able to be funny about our differences otherwise we'd go NUTS. also, we have to speak in british accents when we do it lol it's pretty fun.
those are some cool thoughts that you have shared. i remember one time when i was studying back in Loveland and I realized that I am an eternal being. when that thought sunk in, I was absolutely floored. i had to sit down and pray and ponder for a good while as that truth sunk in for me. wow. it is so amazing to even have a glimpse of the eternal perspective of things. it really does help us to overcome the endings in life and just to look at them as beginnings. cool stuff!

I love you so much Mom! I am excited for our FaceTime call on Christmas!!!
