October 24, 2016

I love this scripture. I'd like to invite you all to look it up.
Really quick. Seriously. It'll be so quick. Just take a couple of
seconds to read the word of God. Mormon 8:16
It is talking about the Book of Mormon here, and I love how it says
that it will be brought out of darkness into the light, because that
is what happens for me when I read it. I am brought out of the
darkness into the light of Jesus Christ, who is the light of the
world. I hope that He can be the light of our lives.

This week has been great. We are seeing many small miracles in our
days, but one of the greatest experiences we had was teaching sharing
time in one of the wards we go to. We got to teach about prayer. It
was so great. I love how insightful the children are. When we asked
them what we can pray about, some of the answers were these: "we can
pray for forgiveness!" "We can pray for the Spirit to comfort us!" "We
can pray for people who are doing bad things"
I love the primary. It was an awesome experience. Attached is a video
of me dancing. It's a great song. Also, I have attached a document
about the Book of Mormon that I find very cool.

Appropriate love to you all!
Elder Bush

(Email to Mom)

It sounds like a super busy week for you guys, with lots of
exciting things happening. Wish evelyn a happy  late birthday for me.
Also, happy birthday to you tomorrow! You're getting old. Just kidding
hahaha are you turning 40 tomorrow? Thats kinda crazy. Do you want me
to stop talking about it? Okay.

Im so glad to hear about how you are serving your seminary class and
also other youth in the ward by teaching them about the Atonement.
What is cool to me is that although i am not able to attend sessions
in the temple very often, i try to think about it frequently, and i
learn things about the endowment as i study even though i am not in
the temple. It is definitely a tender mercy for me. I am so excited to
go to the temple!!! Hopefully the temple policy will be changed
because the temple is inside our mission now. I would love to go to
the temple more. That would be so amazing!!!

We have had a super busy week. We went on exchanges twice and had
stake conference and also we got to teach sharing time on sunday,
which was super cool.

We have had so many meetings and stuff we haven't been able to teach
as much as we wanted, but we have had a couple of cool experiences
teaching less actives. One cool experience we had (but not while we
were teaching less actives) was actually when we went to visit an
active family and share a message with them on splits. I went with the
second counselor in the mission presidency, President Chris Brown,
because he is in the Prairie view ward, the second ward we are
covering. We went, and Pres. Brown said this to the family-
"Well, Elder Bush would love to share a message with you on the topic
of your choosing"
And i was like... "wat."
And then the mother of the family, Sister Melander, was like" Well,
how about he just shares whatever the Spirit tells him to say" and
then they all looked expectantly at me.
I was like "let's pray"
I wasn't exactly panicking, but I wasn't super calm either haha, but
during the prayer, the scripture came to my mind "open your mouth and
it shall be filled", so i was like "okay"
After the prayer, a scripture came into my mind. It was alma 7:11-13,
so we talked about it, and I learned a lot which was super cool. We
talked a lot about the phrase "His bowels filled with mercy". We
talked about how the bowels are the deepest parts inside us, and our
deepest feelings, which means that the bowels of the Savior are filled
with mercy and love. Those are His deepest feelings. It was super
cool. We talked a lot about the Atonement, which was super cool. The
Spirit was very strong in the room. At one point in the lesson, Sister
Melander stopped me and said "thank you, you have answered a question
about mercy and the Atonement that I have had for months"
It was so cool!!!!!!!!! The Spirit definitely works, and it was such a
cool experience to be able to be a tool in the Lord's hands to answer
her questions. Also, another cool thing was that after we shared that
message, she told us of two people that are ready to hear about the
gospel that she is going to invite to meet with us! Super cool.
Miracles are totally ready, and this is absolutely the Lord's work.

Stake conference was super great too. I'm going to include one of the
parts of the talks that was given, actually by President Chris Brown.
It was about the Book of Mormon, and it was super awesome.

Also, i was finally able to send your nametag with leslie's, so it
should be arriving this week. Also, i did get the coat and the gloves,
thank you thank you thank you!

I love you so much mom. I am learning so much, it is so crazy to me to
think that 8 months has already flown by. I love my mission, and I
love my Heavenly Father more and more each day. I am so grateful to be
able to serve Him and the people in this area with all of my heart,
might, mind and strength as I try to do each day. It is such a
blessing :)
