Missionary "action shot"                                     and "How to get to heaven"

This week has been great. Pretty much regular missionary work. It
never ceases to amaze me how awesome it is to be a missionary. I
highly recommend it. This week, we had an interesting experience. We
tracted into this man named Richard, and he was fairly argumentative
about the nature of the Godhead. He believes in the Trinity. Suffice
it to say, he did not agree when we presented our message. We left his
doorstep politely, but with his feelings about "Mormonism" (it's a
cult apparently) quite clear.
Two days later, we received a referral. For Richard. Same address and
everything, with the same concerns about the Godhead. It took a little
bit of courage for us to go contact him, but we decided to go anyways,
humming "I'll go where you want me to go" as we went.
He rejected us again, with quite a bit of annoyance, insisting that he
had not asked for anyone to come to his house again.
Now, I have literally no idea why we received that referral. It didn't
result in any miracle that we could see, except for maybe our hearts
being changed a little bit. I think it was a test from the Lord to see
if we really would go where He wanted us to go. It was definitely a
learning experience for me.

In other news, prayer is super awesome. I treasure the privilege every
day now. It is something I never used to enjoy, it used to seem like a
chore. But now, I love it. Prayer really does change our lives, as
Elder McConkie said.

Appropriate love,
Elder Bush

  1. Missionary work is not all fun. It is mostly pretty hard work, disappointments and rejection. It is also a great learning experience and teaches us patience, forgiveness and love. I see you are learning all this.
