June 27, 2016

This week has been a good week, with lots of missionary work going on.
Amanda and Spencer are still doing really well. Stake conference was
this week and that went pretty well too. I also got to spend 48 hours
away from my companion Elder Domnikov, which was awesome. Just
kidding, he's pretty awesome. We had exchanges back to back with some
of the other missionaries in our district and with the zone leaders. I
learned a lot which is really good. One of the greatest lessons that I
learned this week was of obedience. Some missionaries don't like to be
obedient and it always results in a loss of the Spirit. One thing that
I learned this week was just how important it is to obey the rules
because when we obey the rules we earn trust from our Heavenly Father.
We also are able to gain more faith as we are obedient. One of my
favorite quotes from this last to help offense was a quote from
President Uchtdorf when he said "Obedience is the lifeblood of faith.
It is by obedience that we gather light into our souls." I thought
that was pretty cool and it is definitely true. The Spirit really is
with us when we keep the commandments just like it says in the
sacramental prayers. That was one lesson that really stuck with me
this week and I hope that I can continue to be even more obedient in
the future.

One of the highlights of this week was being able to attend the
baptism of one of the investigators in my last area. Ron is such an
amazing person! It was so cool to see him get baptized! He got really
emotional. It was such a cool experience! It was such a privilege to
be able to get to know him and help teach him.

In other news, our mission president will be switching out this
week... (!) I will be sad to see him go. He has been an awesome
mission president. It has been awesome to serve with him.

Anyways, appropriate love to you all!
Have a good week!

  1. Obedience is so important. If you can't be obedient to small things you do lose the spirit. God knows us but we must know ourselves and discover if we can indeed be trusted. Obedience is how we show our faith in and our love for Heavenly Father and the Savior.
